The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) has sanctioned 3.86 crore rural houses and completed 2.92 crore as of December 9, 2025. The scheme, aiming for 'Housing for All' by 2029, was extended by the Union Cabinet to construct an additional 2 crore rural houses between FY 2024-25 and FY 2028-29 to address rising housing needs. The PM-JANMAN scheme also integrates housing support through PMAY-G for vulnerable tribal groups.
