CPI(M) Names Candidates for Two Seats in Assam Assembly Elections

The CPI(M) has announced candidates for two seats—Bhawanipur-Sorbhog and Goreswar—in the upcoming Assam assembly elections scheduled for April 9. Incumbent MLA Manoranjan Talukdar will contest from Bhawanipur-Sorbhog, a renamed and redrawn constituency, while Bapu Ram Boro will run from Goreswar in the Bodoland Territorial Region. CPI(M) is part of a Congress-led opposition alliance aiming to challenge the ruling BJP and its allies in the 126-member assembly.
