
President Droupadi Murmu undertook a submarine sortie aboard INS Vaghsheer, a Kalvari-class submarine, from the Karwar naval base in Karnataka. She is the second Indian President, after APJ Abdul Kalam, to experience a submarine voyage. Accompanied by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, the President, who is the Supreme Commander of the armed forces, observed the submarine's operational capabilities. INS Vaghsheer is the final vessel of the Project-75 Scorpene program, enhancing India's underwater defense.
