
President Droupadi Murmu undertook a historic 25-minute sortie as co-pilot in India's first indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) 'Prachand' near the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer. Accompanied by Air Chief Marshal A P Singh in a two-aircraft formation, she flew over key locations including the Pokhran firing range. The sortie was part of the Indian Air Force's Exercise Vayu Shakti-2026, showcasing indigenous defense capabilities and operational readiness. Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, also delivered a message saluting Indian soldiers during the flight.
