The Coimbatore Consumer Cause (CCC) has accused the Coimbatore Corporation of violating court orders and government instructions during road re-laying. CCC secretary K. Kathirmathiyon alleges roads are being re-laid without milling, increasing their height, contrary to High Court directives and Chief Secretary instructions. He claims mandatory procedures like longitudinal section drawings and penalty clauses are ignored. Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran stated milling is not universally required and depends on specific road conditions, adding the Corporation would act if a new government order mandates it for all roads.
