The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) plans to establish five new sewage treatment plants (STPs) through a public-private partnership to address horticulture water needs. These plants, with a combined capacity of approximately 2250 kilolitres per day, aim to reduce reliance on groundwater and unfiltered water, especially during peak summer. The initiative is a response to National Green Tribunal orders restricting borewell usage and aims to improve the upkeep of NDMC's extensive green spaces.
