
An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has sentenced YouTuber Adil Raja and journalists Wajahat Saeed Khan, Sabir Shakir, Shaheen Sehbai, and anchorperson Haider Raza Mehdi, along with analyst Moeed Pirzada and former army official Akbar Hussain, to two life sentences each. The convictions are related to the May 9, 2023 riots, where they were accused of "digital terrorism" and inciting violence against state institutions. The trials were conducted in absentia, and the individuals were also fined and given additional prison sentences for conspiracy.
