Krishnagiri district authorities seized 498 vehicles between April 2024 and November 2025 for mining violations, including smuggling minerals without permits. Joint inspections by Revenue, Mines and Geology, and Police departments led to the seizures. The Collector emphasized vigilance against overmining, operating beyond license expiry, and non-disclosure of mined quantities. Actions were also directed against quarries lacking environmental clearances, those diverting explosives, and those disregarding safety protocols. The Regional Transport Office was tasked with inspecting vehicles to prevent permit evasion and green tax evasion for inter-state transport.
