The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) dismissed a defamation complaint by Dr. Dhanraj Mane, former Director of Higher Education. Mane alleged he was wrongly portrayed as visually disabled, leading to his transfer. The SHRC found the matter beyond its jurisdiction. Mane had also filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court challenging government resolutions that led to his appointment to a post suitable for visually disabled persons, seeking reinstatement to his original position.
