Judge Orders U.S. to Address Wrongful Deportation of College Student

U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns has given the Trump administration 21 days to address the wrongful deportation of Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, a 19-year-old Honduran college student. Lopez Belloza was deported to Honduras despite a court order barring her removal. The judge recommended issuing her a student visa as the simplest remedy, warning of contempt proceedings if the government fails to act. Lopez Belloza was brought to the U.S. as a child seeking asylum and was unaware of her removal order.
