Government to Review Chandigarh Airport's 'Point of Call' Status Amid Connectivity Concerns

More than a decade after its inauguration, Chandigarh's Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport lacks the 'Point of Call' (PoC) designation, limiting direct international flights. Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu highlighted the inconvenience faced by passengers from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, who endure long travel times via Delhi. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu stated the government will examine Chandigarh's air traffic data before considering PoC status, noting current international connectivity to Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
