Six Police Officers Suspended After Sivaganga Custodial Death; Family Receives Relief

In Sivaganga district, 26-year-old R. Akash Delison died in custody after being detained by Manamadurai police in connection with a hacking case. Authorities claim he sustained a leg fracture while trying to escape and died during hospital treatment. Following protests by the victim's Scheduled Caste family, six police personnel, including the local Inspector and Sub-Inspector, were suspended. The Minister for Co-operation provided ₹6 lakh in relief to the victim's family.
