The Shiv Sena party has announced that five of its candidates have been elected unopposed to the Thane Municipal Corporation. These candidates, including wives of prominent local leaders, were set to contest from wards in the Wagle Estate region. The elections for the 131-member corporation are scheduled for January 15. Official confirmation from poll authorities regarding the unopposed victories is still pending.
