Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Rs 6,950-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in Assam, a 34.5-km section of National Highway 715 designed to reduce wildlife fatalities by allowing safe animal passage beneath the highway. The project includes four-laning and bypass sections, aiming to address frequent animal-vehicle collisions during monsoon migrations in Kaziranga National Park, home to diverse species including the one-horned rhinoceros. The corridor passes over nine critical animal routes to support conservation alongside infrastructure development.
