Canada Provides C$300 Million Military Aid to Ukraine, Sanctions Russian Shadow Fleet

Canada announced C$300 million (US$220 million) in new military aid to Ukraine as part of a broader C$2 billion aid package, with most funding previously disclosed in last November's budget. Defence Minister David McGuinty also stated that Canada will impose sanctions on 100 vessels linked to Russia's shadow fleet. Since February 2022, Canada has committed over C$25.5 billion in total aid to Ukraine, including C$8.5 billion in military assistance.
