India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed user evaluation trials for the Akash-NG (New Generation) missile system, clearing it for induction into the Army and Air Force. The upgraded missile system demonstrated enhanced capabilities in intercepting various aerial targets at different altitudes and ranges, including low-altitude and high-speed threats. The Akash-NG features an indigenous radio-frequency seeker and a solid rocket motor, offering a longer range and a smaller footprint compared to its predecessor, significantly bolstering India's air defence capabilities.
