Supreme Court to Hear Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah's Plea on FIR Against Him

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on January 19 a plea by Madhya Pradesh minister Kunwar Vijay Shah challenging a High Court order to register an FIR against him for using derogatory language against Indian Army officer Col Sofiya Qureshi. Shah has expressed regret and issued an online apology, which the court has yet to accept formally. The court previously questioned Shah's intentions and directed a special investigation team to submit a report on the matter by August 2025.
