Punjab's Power Minister Sanjeev Arora announced wide-ranging reforms worth ₹5,000 crore to create a resilient power grid by 2027. These initiatives include simplified electricity connection processes, digitization of records, and infrastructure upgrades like underground cables and transformer enhancements. A statewide project aims to improve safety and aesthetics by straightening overhead wires and minimizing roadside poles. The 'Roshan Punjab' initiative, partially funded by RDSS, also increases ex-gratia compensation for employees in fatal duty accidents.
