Albania has lifted its year-long ban on TikTok, which was imposed following the stabbing death of a 14-year-old reportedly linked to online bullying. The government stated TikTok addressed safety concerns by implementing new filters, emphasizing the ban aimed to protect children, not influence elections. Opposition parties, however, accused the ruling party of using the ban to suppress dissent ahead of parliamentary polls amid ongoing political unrest and corruption allegations. TikTok declined to comment on the developments.
