
The Telangana State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, approved accident insurance and a cashless Employee Health Scheme benefiting over 7.5 lakh government employees and pensioners. The accident cover offers Rs 1.2 crore compensation for accidental death and Rs 10 lakh for natural death, with no premium burden on employees. The health scheme covers 1,998 procedures across 652 hospitals, funded equally by employees and the government. The Cabinet also set March 31 to complete the Hyderabad Metro Rail phase one takeover. Employee unions welcomed these initiatives as historic steps.
