The Delhi High Court has granted interim protection to the personality rights of actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The court restrained 14 entities, including e-commerce websites and individuals, from using Kalyan's name, image, or likeness for commercial purposes, particularly with AI and deepfake technology, without his consent. The court noted Kalyan is a public figure and his unauthorized commercial exploitation would cause irreparable injury. Social media accounts impersonating him were ordered to clearly label themselves as 'fan accounts'.
