Barse Deva, a high-ranking commander of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Battalion No. 1 and considered a mastermind behind several lethal ambushes, has surrendered to Telangana Police. Deva, from Sukma district in Chhattisgarh, commanded the elite fighting unit of the CPI (Maoist) party. His surrender is seen as a significant blow to the Maoist movement, particularly along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. The state government views this as a success for its rehabilitation policies, offering Deva financial aid and support for reintegration.
