Praveen Vashista Sworn In as Vigilance Commissioner of Central Vigilance Commission

Former IPS officer Praveen Vashista was sworn in as Vigilance Commissioner of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on January 16. A 1991 batch Bihar cadre officer, Vashista has over three decades of experience in law enforcement, including roles in the Economic Offences Wing, Crime Investigation Department, and the Central Bureau of Investigation. He previously served as special secretary (internal security) in the Union Home Ministry. His appointment brings the CVC to full strength, which comprises one central vigilance commissioner and up to two vigilance commissioners.
