The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against two more individuals, Bhargab Gogoi and Sumu Gogoi, in the 2024 Assam Independence Day IED seizure case, bringing the total accused to five. The NIA alleges the two provided terror funds to Jahnu Boruah, who confessed to planting IEDs as part of a ULFA (Independent) plot to disrupt Independence Day celebrations. The case, initially registered by Assam Police, involves a conspiracy to wage war against the Indian government.
