The Delhi government is overhauling facilities at the Savda Ghevra colony, planning to allot 7,620 constructed but vacant residential units to economically weaker section (EWS) families. An allocation of Rs 27.50 crore has been approved for repairing 2,500 vacant flats. The initiative aims to provide habitable housing, community facilities, sewerage networks, parks, water supply, and waste management. The government criticizes previous administrations for leaving houses vacant, leading to resource wastage.
