
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that around 200 Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan have been granted Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Speaking at events in Uttarakhand, Shah emphasized that these refugees have equal rights to citizenship as Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized opposition parties for opposing the CAA and stated the government’s commitment to ousting illegal intruders from India while continuing to grant citizenship to eligible refugees.
