Jharkhand is experiencing a shortage of domestic and commercial LPG, affecting households and businesses like hotels and restaurants, according to Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore. The refill booking interval has increased to 25 days for urban and 45 days for rural consumers, with pending refills totaling 3.27 lakh. The state’s commercial gas supply has been cut by 80% due to a central directive, reducing monthly supply to 454.6 metric tonnes against a requirement of 2,273.11 metric tonnes. The shortage is attributed in part to the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran and is expected to impact industrial towns and state revenue.
