Over 200 Venezuelan Political Prisoners Strike Over Amnesty Law Exclusions

More than 200 political prisoners at Venezuela's Rodeo I prison began a hunger strike to protest exclusions in a new amnesty law passed by the National Assembly. The law, part of reforms following the U.S.-backed ousting of President Maduro, has freed nearly 2,200 people, including 177 full releases and over 2,000 with eased restrictions. However, it excludes cases involving the military, terrorism, and ongoing activism abroad, prompting criticism from inmates and rights groups. The International Committee of the Red Cross visited the prison for the first time amid the strike.
