The YSR Congress Party has criticized the Andhra Pradesh police, alleging a significant decline in law and order and policing standards under the current coalition government. Party leader Jalla Sudarshan Reddy cited the Director General of Police's explanation for a lack of patrol vehicles as evidence of systemic failure and disregard for legal procedures. He also claimed police interference in civil disputes, abuse of authority, and selective enforcement of laws, asserting that the police force has fallen from a top national ranking to 36th place.
