The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has launched a sewer line laying project in 11 unauthorised colonies across Deoli and Ambedkar Nagar to address sewage pollution affecting the Yamuna River. Originally sanctioned in 2018 with a planned completion by May 2020, only about 32 of the planned 57 kilometres of sewer lines were completed. The current initiative aims to lay approximately 25 kilometres of underground sewer lines at a cost of Rs 31.31 crore, with the government committed to finishing the work within a set timeline.
