A scuffle broke out between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers and police when their candidate's nomination papers for BMC Elections in Ward 226 were refused by the Returning Officer. MNS candidate Baban Mahadik alleged that his nomination, along with others, was rejected after the official time expired, suspecting external influence. Senior MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar arrived at the scene, stating the party chief would be informed. Mahadik was reportedly an MNS-Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance candidate.
