
The DMK has allotted one Rajya Sabha seat to its ally, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), marking the party's first representation in the Upper House despite having no current legislators in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The seat-sharing committee will determine the number of Assembly seats to be allocated to DMDK after further discussions. The electoral pact was signed by DMK President M.K. Stalin and DMDK treasurer L.K. Sudheesh, with DMDK general secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth expected to announce the Rajya Sabha candidate.
