
India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to explore establishing 'Digital Embassies,' secure physical centers hosting foreign government data under diplomatic immunity. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described this as a novel concept involving safe harboring data of national and strategic importance. While few countries have implemented such models, India and UAE plan to develop a regulatory framework addressing data sovereignty and security concerns to facilitate this initiative.
