
For the first time, the Indian Army's animal contingent will march in the Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path in 2026. The Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) will showcase Bactrian camels, Zanskar ponies, raptors, and Army dogs, highlighting their endurance, sacrifice, and operational capabilities in challenging high-altitude frontiers. These animals, including indigenous breeds, play vital roles in logistics, patrolling, surveillance, and security operations, reflecting tradition, innovation, and self-reliance within the Army.
