Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate ceasefire, effective December 27, 2025, to end weeks of deadly border clashes. The agreement, confirmed by both nations' defense ministers, halts troop movements and aims to de-escalate tensions along their disputed border. This truce follows intense fighting that resulted in over 100 deaths and displaced over half a million people, and comes after previous ceasefire attempts failed. The agreement also includes provisions for returning Cambodian soldiers and allowing displaced civilians to return home.
