The State Cabinet has approved the creation of 159 new posts, comprising 91 permanent and 68 contract positions, for the Cochin Cancer Research Centre (CCRC) in Ernakulam. These appointments are part of the first phase of the center's operations, which will initially feature 100 beds. The decision follows recommendations from an expert committee. The CCRC, with construction resumed in November 2021 and now completed, is slated for inauguration in January. An amenity center for patient bystanders is also being established.
