Safety Inspection and Speed Trial Completed for Chennai MRTS Extension to St. Thomas Mount

The Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) extension from Velachery to St. Thomas Mount in Chennai has completed its safety inspection by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS), New Delhi. The inspection included a detailed examination of the track and infrastructure, followed by a high-speed trial run using an air-conditioned electrical multiple unit (EMU) to assess track geometry, signalling, and overhead equipment. This marks the final step before commissioning the extension for public use.
