Telangana Plans Salary Deduction Law for Employees Neglecting Elderly Parents

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced plans to introduce a law deducting 10-15% of government employees' salaries who neglect their elderly parents, with the amount transferred directly to the parents' bank accounts. The government is also setting up 'Pranaam' day care centres for senior citizens and will introduce a new healthcare policy in the 2026-27 budget. Additionally, transgender individuals will be nominated as co-opted members in municipal corporations to enhance their representation. Welfare schemes for persons with disabilities were also highlighted.
