Ranju Darshana Neupane, 30, of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), won the Kathmandu-1 parliamentary seat in Nepal's recent elections with 15,455 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Prabal Thapa and Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Rabindra Mishra. This marks her first parliamentary victory after a previous unsuccessful independent bid in 2022. Darshana, known for her role in alternative politics since 2013 and the Bibeksheel movement, re-entered politics following the merger of Bibeksheel Sajha Party with the RSP.
