
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that unemployed youth aged 21 to 40 who have passed class 10 will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 starting March 7, ahead of the assembly polls. Originally planned for April, the scheme aims to support around one crore beneficiaries not covered by other programs except scholarships. Banerjee highlighted a 40% reduction in unemployment and skill training provided to 40 lakh people, with 10 lakh already employed.
