
The Election Commission of India published Tamil Nadu's final electoral roll on February 23, 2026, following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The updated list records 5.67 crore electors, including 2.89 crore women, 2.77 crore men, and 7,617 third-gender voters. Approximately 74 lakh names were removed since the roll was frozen at 6.41 crore in October 2025, while 27.5 lakh eligible voters were added during claims and objections. The largest electorate is in Sholinganallur constituency with 5.36 lakh voters, and the smallest in Harbour with 1.16 lakh. Voters can verify their names online and file appeals if excluded. Continuous updation of rolls will continue ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
