The Chhattisgarh High Court has granted bail to Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in two cases related to an alleged liquor scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) had both lodged cases against him. The ED alleges Baghel was at the helm of a syndicate that handled approximately Rs 1,000 crore from the scam, while the ACB claims his personal share was Rs 200-250 crore. The scam, allegedly orchestrated between 2019 and 2022, is said to have caused significant loss to the state exchequer.
