Delhi Government Negotiates with Haryana and UP to Increase Water Supply

The Delhi government is negotiating with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to increase water supply through a water exchange project, trading treated water for raw water to aid irrigation in neighboring states. Delhi's current water production is 900-1,000 million gallons per day (MGD), below the 1,260 MGD peak summer demand. Major sources include Haryana's Munak Canal, supplying about 60% of Delhi's water, and UP's Upper Ganga Canal.
