Fourteen specialised teams of the Rapid Action Force (RAF), the riot-control wing of the CRPF, have been prepared for disaster relief and rescue operations across India. These teams, comprising about 340 personnel from seven RAF battalions, have been trained by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Equipped to handle natural, man-made, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents, the RAF complements the NDRF in disaster response. A joint symposium reviewed their training and equipment.
