Sri Lanka's Navy honored eight foreign vessels, including two from India, for their crucial disaster relief efforts following Cyclone Ditwah. The cyclone caused widespread flooding, landslides, and infrastructure collapse, resulting in over 600 deaths. Indian naval ships INS Vikrant and INS Udaygiri were among the first to provide humanitarian assistance, delivering over 1,100 tonnes of relief material, medicines, and equipment. These vessels, initially in Sri Lanka for the Navy's 75th anniversary International Fleet Review, were redirected to aid in the disaster response.
