Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed 5,100 free cooking gas connections to women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The initiative aims to improve health, dignity, and cleanliness for beneficiaries by reducing reliance on traditional fuels. The scheme, which has benefited over 10 crore families nationwide and approximately 2.6 lakh in Delhi, is also expected to contribute to controlling air pollution by reducing indoor smoke from firewood and coal stoves.
