India Forms Inter-Ministerial Group to Monitor West Asia Developments and Trade Impact

The Indian government has established an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) to monitor daily developments in West Asia amid escalating geopolitical tensions, particularly following US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Led by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, the IMG includes representatives from key ministries to assess vulnerabilities in shipping, logistics, exports, and critical imports. The group aims to coordinate responses, facilitate trade operations through procedural flexibility, and safeguard exporter interests to ensure supply chain resilience and minimal disruption to India's trade.
