
In the Chandrapur civic polls, the Congress emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats, supported by three Janvikas Sena corporators and two independents, totaling over 40 corporators backing its mayoral claim. Senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar attributed the BJP's loss, which held 36 seats in 2017, to public dissatisfaction over issues like corruption, price rise, and poor civic management. Congress supporters celebrated the outcome, while local leaders credited party workers for the victory.
