
Ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections expected in April, BJP leaders have accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of violence and attacks on BJP workers, forcing them to flee their homes. BJP state chief Samik Bhattacharya and other leaders claim deteriorating law and order necessitated early deployment of central forces. The TMC denies these allegations, accusing the BJP of attempting to create unrest for electoral gains. The BJP also warned of retaliatory measures if their Poriborton Yatra is obstructed.
