The BJP is launching its campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in the Darjeeling hills from Kurseong on Sunday, with actor Mithun Chakraborty scheduled to attend. The party plans to contest the elections in alliance with its traditional allies in the region, despite organizing an independent public meeting. Key leaders, including Suvendu Adhikari, will participate in rallies across the Dooars and Siliguri. The BJP aims to build on its previous successes in the hills, where it secured two Assembly seats in 2021.
